alone

So, I just got out of our meeting that went until 11:45pm. ugh.
Sometimes I feel like even though there are SO many people here, so many residents I know and hang out with, a boyfriend, a small group, and campus ministry, I still feel alone at times. Today was one of them. Generally it's not that i'm not spending time with people, it's that the time spent "together" is not really together. Instead it's computer time or video game time or an awkward getting-to-know-you time. I think that a majority of the time spent with people is so lacking that it's not quality time. We need more quality time with people, and when we are spending time with others, we need to really be spending time with them. We need to make sure we value the people in our lives because you never know what's going to happen and we don't want to live with any regrets.

I live a very eventful life. Too bad most of it can't go on the blog! hehe :D But this can. today we went horseback riding and it was fun!!! SOOO many freaking complications, but it worked out. Then tonight, Jonathon let us borrow his car, so Sean and I went to see Man of the Year. We liked it, it was funny. :D

ugh

So, this is a week full of homework, papers, and midterms. yuck. That's all that's really going on. Thursday is my day of celebration! All the crap for the week will be turned in and done. I am going to do my nails and toenails, get my eyebrows waxed, give myself a facial, and probably take a nice hot bath with yummy smelling bath beads and a good sappy book. :D And Sean (the most wonderful guy ever) is making us tacos! The celebration is all planned out, I just have to get there without going insane, which will be quite an accomplishment. :D We are going horeseback riding with my community on Saturday and my choir concert is on Sunday. Welp, later gators! :D Love you all!

A garden withered, worn, dead
Observed a man, a passerby
"I am these flowers," aloud he said
And the hours ticked by as he turned to face the sky
At once, the man turned, from the garden left
In all its nothingness remained
When the man returned, his pale wept
While life's living nourishment rained
At that, the man removed his coat
Black and stained from the road
Then brilliance, life, and vibrance shown
Spreading to every rose
Passion, he thought, the water he was missing
To which he in his life had been blind
And he said to the flowers the sun was now kissing
What life without passion life did find?

Sisters

Here's Kathryn and our new sister Rachael both ready for their homecomings. Then there's my sister Rachael looking so pretty ready for her hc dance. It was really really nice to meet her this weekend. She is nice and I know the rest of the family likes her. I hope she likes us too and has a good experience being a part of our family.

So, good good good weekend. I am tired and sick, but it was a good weekend. :D Here's Seany and I (above) at the tree we met at 3 years ago at Parker's Orchard. :D We went there for the final Harvest Festival. That was pretty emotional for me to leave and know it was never going to happen again. I'd been going to/working at that festival for years and years. It was a beautiful weekend weatherwise too.

It's pouring and storming outside. :D So, naturally, my staff and I had to go play in it lol We went to Kliener to get food (ice cream for me) which is about as far as it gets on the other side of campus. We jumped in puddles and slid in the grass/mud, running and screaming all the way. Ah, good times. Saturday was service day with CM, so Sean and I picked one that was fun (we didn't really know what we were doing when we signed up) but there was this ministry downtown that provides transitional housing for homeless families, and some people do really well in the program and others do really bad, and this particular family did bad and trashed the house so we spent the morning painting the walls and it was fun. It's awesome that there are ministies like that. Sean wants to be missions coordinator for CM after Even is gone haha He would be sweet at it. He LOVES doing stuff like that and it makes him really happy to serve. I am really proud of him, he's going to do awesome in life. Yesterday we went to Grand Haven and walked along the beach and out on the pier because it was such a beautiful day yesterday. It was nice. Well, there are things going wrong and going crazy, but it's ok. One day at a time. :)

So...at about 3 this morning, a drunk driver drove through the volleyball court next to South B and into the ravine taking out a couple benches and trash cans on the way. Then the driver and another drunk guy got out and bolted while a (not sure how sober)nother guy stayed and described the others in the car to the police who got the hounds to hunt them down. It's a miracle they are still alove because there are so many huge poles and stuff that the car missed and even big trees in the ravine. I don't know when the cops found the other two in the car cause I left at like 4am. See kids, it's drinking fun? :p
